Vicky - Tutor

About me

I worked as a TA for several years in both primary and secondary schools. For a long time, I wanted to train as a teacher so in September 2020 I started my PGCE course, completing in June 2021. That was quite a challenge during Covid!

Why team JHF?

I enjoyed training to be a teacher but missed the one to one and small group work that I had been used to as a TA and LSA. I have always had an interest in SEN and mental health issues experienced by young people and felt that, as a class teacher, I did not have time to help more vulnerable pupils. When I saw the person specification for the tutor role at the JHF, I felt that it was a really good match for the work that I wanted to do. I passionately believe that young people deserve the to be listened to and helped to access education in a way that works for them.

Things I love

I love reading, hot weather, walking my dog (Ruby the labrador) and spending time with my family. I have 2 daughters (22 and 18) who are now both living in Manchester so I like to visit them when I can.
