Sarah - Mentor

About me

I’m a primary school teacher part time, and I live with my husband, our children and our cat Katie. I’ve lived in Nailsea for most of my adult life, apart from a few years in Cardiff for university.

Why team JHF?

Although I love teaching, mentoring is an opportunity to support young people in a much more personalised way. Two of my children are neurodiverse and I’ve seen how powerful it can be for a young person to have a champion, someone to really listen and understand what they need to thrive. The wonderful team at the JHF gives every individual that chance, and I’m thrilled to be a small part of it.

Things I love

My favourite thing to do is spend time with my family; we especially love doing jigsaws, playing board games and talking about how much we love Katie the cat.  My happy place is the West Coast of Scotland; I love the mountains, the wildlife and the peaceful, empty spaces. I’m fascinated by buildings with lots of history and really enjoy exploring ruined castles, piecing together what life would have been like.
