About me

Born in Leicester, I moved to Birmingham to study politics at university. By this point I realised how much I loved working with children and young people so invested a few extra years in getting a second degree in Theology and Youth Work. I spent around 12 years working with families and churches before moving to Clevedon and taking some time off when my daughter was born. Five years ago I went back to university to study to become a teacher – and loved every moment of it since!

Why team JHF?

JHF mirrors my own priorities for children and education. In my own life and in the lives of those children I have worked with, I have seen the opportunities and struggles that the world education places before us. JHF strives to ease those struggles in order to open up the opportunities – a goal that can neither be ignored nor taken lightly!

Things I love

I love learning new things (I’m taking a crack at Polish at the moment), volunteering in my local church, Toblerone, reading a great book, finding new places to let my dog explore the world off his lead, board games with my family and a good cup of tea.
