Clare - Tutor

About me

I have worked in the Design Industry as a Graphic Designer and also as a Design & Technology Secondary Teacher (specialising in Food Technology). More recently, I have worked as a Freelance Photographer and a Learning Support Assistant/Tutor in a primary school. I’ve always enjoyed being creative and have recently decided to start running creative workshops that will hopefully encourage other adults to roll up their sleeves, get creative and learn a new skill too.

Why team JHF?

I love working for the JHF and feel privileged to be a part of such an experienced and supportive team. Helping to build self-esteem, confidence and resilience is obviously extremely rewarding; and I wholeheartedly believe in the JHF’s 1-2-1 tailored approach. I think this level of support is truly unique and incredibly empowering for young people and their families.

Things I love

I love to learn new creative skills, the most recent being crochet, taught by my very proud 11 year old. I keep active by running with my rescue dog, Harry. Our record run is just under 18 miles during Lockdown. I also have become a bit of a seasonal cyclist during this time when deciding to undertake a ‘Doorstep Photography’ challenge. I cycled from one family home to the next, taking family photos whilst raising money for the NHS Trust Fund. I enjoy fundraising and actively fundraising again for my daughter’s football team by taking action shots during their football matches. One of my personal goals this year is to start growing some vegetables in my garden.
