In-School Mentoring:

Our mentors provide personalised support to young people aged 8 – 18 (25 if the young person has an EHCP) facing challenges in the classroom. Working one-on-one or in small groups, inside or outside the traditional setting, they help students:

Community Mentoring: 
Building Bridges Back to School

Our mentors provide compassionate support to young people facing barriers to school attendance. The process unfolds gradually:

Building Trust

First, the mentor focuses on getting to know the young person 
and their family, creating a safe space where they feel heard and understood.

Through careful listening, the mentor helps identify specific goals and create a personalised plan for re-engagement.

Easing the Transition

 Mentors support the young person with activities like:

  • School visits to build familiarity
  • Social stories to reduce anxiety and explain the school setting
  • Collaboration on a re-engagement plan (e.g., starting with part-time hours)

Ongoing Support

Mentors offer continued encouragement and guidance as the young person gradually increases their school attendance.

Transition Support: Smoothing the Path to Secondary School

We understand that the move from Year 6 to Year 7 can be a big change for young people.  New environments, friendships, and the challenges of adolescence can feel overwhelming. That’s why we offer a special summer programme to ease this transition:

Weekly outdoor group activities help young people develop 
self-assurance, make friends, and have fun before the school year begins.

Mentor visits to the secondary school create comfort and continuity, offering familiar support as students adjust.

We provide individual support during the transition process, ensuring each young person feels ready to thrive in their new school.

Supported Work Experience

We are dedicated to providing young people with valuable, mentor-supported work experience placements that typically last 6-8 weeks. Our program arranges these sessions with mentors who accompany and guide participants, ensuring they gain practical insights and build confidence in a real-world setting.

In addition to hands-on experience, we offer comprehensive employability support, including CV writing, interview preparation, and career advice. Our goal is to equip young people with the skills and knowledge they need to make a strong start in their careers and explore the working world with confidence. By fostering a supportive environment, we help them develop not only professional skills but also a sense of self-assurance and ambition for their futur
