The JHF Youth Charity: A Legacy of Love and Support

The JHF Youth Charity was founded in 2012 by Ben Hazeldine in memory of his beloved grandfather, Jack. Jack played a pivotal role in Ben’s life, serving as a guiding light and unwavering source of support. Inspired by Ben’s experience with Jack, our charity strives to offer young people mentoring support.

The JHF charity was born from the heartfelt donations collected at Jack’s funeral. Starting modestly, we reached one hundred children within our first four years. Recognising the connection between learning success and overall well-being, the JHF added tutoring services in 2017.

Adapting, Growing, Thriving

Rising to the challenge of the COVID pandemic, our charity offered over 250 hours of virtual and outdoor support each week. Learning of the need, the local community rallied together, constructing a beautiful outdoor learning centre called the Orchard.

The Orchard is a sanctuary—a safe, calm, quiet space ideal for
one-on-one mentoring as well as being an inspiring outdoor learning environment. It also hosts summer transition projects, which ease the path for young people moving from primary to secondary school.
