Safeguarding Support and Family Liaison
About me
At school I struggled to focus and was often found daydreaming or chatting. It really affected my confidence. Due to this I’ve always been very passionate about looking out for others and supporting however I can to help others gain confidence. This led me to become a hairdresser, I loved the creativity of the job but also loved the social side of the job and watching others so uplifted as they walked out. My first son was diagnosed with ADHD and autism very young, I decided to embark on a journey of learning and gaining experience to support him as much as possible, which led me to train as an LSA and become a mentor with the JHF in 2018.
Why JHF?
While studying I wanted to be able to gain experience from spending time with children struggling within education. I became a mentor for JHF and literally never looked back, the JHF are the support and passion that I wished I had, while at school. During 2020 I took on the role as safeguarding support within the programme team and now support our mentors and tutors with their every day sessions and keep our referrers up-to date. I also really enjoy supporting our young people’s family, and keeping them signposted with appropriate signposting support.
What I love:
I love being creative, being near trees, a hot cup of tea and chocolate!! I love meeting new people and spending time with my family and friends. And talking 😊
