Mentor

About me/my background

I trained as an Interior Designer and worked in the industry for 25 years in the education and healthcare sectors. Interwoven into this I have also been an au pair in Germany and an English Teacher in Italy. More recently though, I have wanted to pursue something I have always had an interest in and so am currently training to become a crystal healing practitioner. I have a son and a daughter and recently acquired a dwarf hamster named Cinnabon.

Why Team JHF

As much as I love the world of Interior Design I have been feeling in the last few years that it has been time for a change in direction and that my career aspirations should reflect and align with my personal values and beliefs more. A friend told me about JHF and the wonderful work they do with children and young people, I felt inspired to find out more. 

I applied to become a Youth Mentor and as soon as I met the team I knew this role was going to be for me. Being a Mentor is a privilege and it has enabled me to help empower children and young people to reach and achieve their full potential every day.

Things I Love

I love music and also sing in several local groups. I also love dance, martial arts and Tai Chi. I have a keen interest in motorsports but also holistic therapies, including crystal healing and colour therapy.

I like to make jewellery, walk, camp, travel and be out in nature and the great outdoors. I love to paint, draw and spend time with my family.
