Bex - Safeguarding Lead

About me

I grew up in the Midlands and moved down to the South West to study many moons ago; I’m a qualified Primary School Teacher and have worked in a classroom for as long as I can remember.  I live in North Somerset with my family and we love being so close to the countryside and yet just a stone’s throw from Bristol.

Why team JHF?

After taking some time out of teaching, to focus on my family, I happened upon the JHF and knew that I wanted to be a part of such a special organisation.  Having spent time working in the private sector, I felt that it was the right time to take on a new challenge and to return to a role which is not only rewarding but also has such a positive impact upon the lives of the young people that the JHF work with.

Things I love

I love to be outdoors – green is my favourite colour – and I am passionate about taking care of our planet.  I like to try my hand at gardening and am never more in awe of the wonder of nature than when I am outside, with my family, tending to the veggie patch.  I enjoy upcycling and repurposing unwanted items that I’ve picked up from charity shops and I would love to have more time to spend focusing on interior design, so that I could add even more personality to my home.  When I’m not playing taxi driver to my three children, I like to unwind with a hot cup of tea, a good book and a sizable slab of dark chocolate. Is now a good time to mention my current addiction to Married At First Sight Australia?? I regrettably don’t have enough free time to commit to binge watching reality TV!
